Upcoming Events:

Leafleting: Inform Aldi Customers about Extreme Animal Cruelty! Canvass July 1, 2024 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM PT Aldi is purchasing from farms that allow one of the cruelest factory farming practices: the use of gestation cages to house pregnant mother pigs. We need help making sure that Aldi customers know that the company has a choice at where they purchase from! Gestation cages are already banned or restricted in 11 US states and Aldi itself has eliminated this practice in Germany where they are headquartered. We need friendly folks to leaflet outside of Aldi grocery stores. We can provide the leaflets that have a website where Aldi customers can ask Aldi to raise their standards. Please reach out to Dane at danec@animalequality.org if you are interested in exposing Aldi's authorization of extreme animal abuse!

Winter Park, FL: Protest Animal Abuse at Keke's Breakfast Cafe Protest July 27, 2024 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET Keke's Breakfast Cafe was acquired by Denny's in 2022, a company which has failed to implement meaningful animal welfare policies. Keke's has no public animal welfare commitments on their site and are associated with a company being called out for extreme animal cruelty. For over a year, Animal Equality has been calling out Denny's for backtracking on its commitment to spare extreme animal suffering by banning the use of gestation crates for pigs in its supply chain. Denny's leadership, including CEO Kelli Valade who oversees both Denny’s and Keke’s, has been brushing animal cruelty under the rug for too long. That's why Keke's is now in our sights. Join us at Keke's to call out their association with animal cruelty! Following the protest, Animal Equality will host a lunch and activist event from 12pm-2pm nearby. Details to come! Learn more about the Denny's campaign and take action at ItsDinerTime.com and KelliValade.Exposed.

Then, we’ll go over easy, targeted online actions together that we can all do in our free time. All you need is your phone (or laptop). We encourage you to bring a friend–this is a safe space for anyone that is against animal cruelty. You MUST RSVP to be given the address. Chicago: Protest Aldi's Support of Cages for Animals Protest August 18, 2024 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM CT Of all the terrible ways used to lock up farmed animals, cages are at the top of the list. Aldi, a German-based international grocery chain, allows this cruel factory farming practice for animals their US supply chain. However, in Germany, Aldi is known for their progressive animal welfare standards and does not use battery cages for hens or gestation crates for pigs. A growing number of companies, including Aldi’s competitors like Kroger, Target, and Costco, are ending the confinement of animals in cages. It is a cruel practice, and several U.S. states and countries worldwide have already banned it. Pigs and hens shouldn’t spend their entire lives suffering in cages for Aldi US. Join us to speak out against the extreme animal abuse Aldi allows! Low prices don't have to mean low standards! Learn more at AldiSupportsCruelty.com
