Upcoming Events:

Leafleting: Inform Aldi Customers about Extreme Animal Cruelty! Canvass July 1, 2024 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM PT Aldi is purchasing from farms that allow one of the cruelest factory farming practices: the use of gestation cages to house pregnant mother pigs. We need help making sure that Aldi customers know that the company has a choice at where they purchase from! Gestation cages are already banned or restricted in 11 US states and Aldi itself has eliminated this practice in Germany where they are headquartered. We need friendly folks to leaflet outside of Aldi grocery stores. We can provide the leaflets that have a website where Aldi customers can ask Aldi to raise their standards. Please reach out to Dane at danec@animalequality.org if you are interested in exposing Aldi's authorization of extreme animal abuse!

This virtual event is a great opportunity to come together as advocates and take effective actions to hold companies accountable for animal cruelty. If you are new to activism and unsure about where to begin or if you’re a seasoned advocate but have difficulty setting aside a time to take actions, then this event is perfect for you! All are welcome. This is a recurring monthly event to help support our current campaigns and meet other animal protectors. It will be held virtually on Zoom.

Protest Aldi's Support of Cruel Cages (Chicago, IL) Protest October 23, 2024 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM CT Join activists during the "Aldi Week of Action" for a peaceful protest in Chicago! Of all the terrible ways used to lock up farmed animals, cages are at the top of the list. Aldi, a German-based international grocery chain, allows this cruel factory farming practice for animals in its US supply chain. However, in Germany, Aldi is known for its progressive animal welfare standards and does not use battery cages for hens or gestation crates for pigs. Why the double standard? Join us to speak out against the extreme animal abuse Aldi allows! Low prices don't have to mean low standards!

Protest Aldi Cruelty at Grand Opening (Shrewsbury, NJ) Protest October 24, 2024 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM ET Join Animal Equality and activists outside of a new grand opening of an Aldi grocery store to protest the company's support of cages in their US supply chain. Pregnant pigs and hens are subjected to extreme cruelty, forced to live inside small cages that limit basic movements and natural behaviors. We'll be there to inform new Aldi customers about how the chain has adopted better standards for animals in other countries, but refuses to do so in the US.

Protest Aldi's Support of Cruel Cages (Austin, TX) Protest October 27, 2024 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CT Of all the terrible ways used to lock up farmed animals, cages are at the top of the list. Aldi, a German-based international grocery chain, allows this cruel factory farming practice for animals in its US supply chain. Meanwhile, Aldi’s competitors like Safeway and Costco, are ending this abuse. Join us to take a stand against cruel cages and make sure Aldi and its customers hear us loud and clear!

Protest Aldi Cruelty at Prominent Trade Show (Chicago, IL) Protest November 17, 2024 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT Aldi, a major grocery chain, continues to permit one of the most inhumane factory farming practices in their U.S. supply chain—confining animals in cages for their entire lives. Pigs and hens endure immense suffering because Aldi refuses to implement a meaningful anti-cage policy or provide transparency on its progress. Join us at the Private Label Trade Show where Aldi's President is the keynote speaker to expose the extreme animal cruelty Aldi supports. ***Please RSVP only if you can attend.***
